Editorial: Modern Romance at Gunnersbury Park & Mansion

In this editorial, we sought the perfect venue to marry modernity and classical elegance, and we found it in Gunnersbury Park and Mansion. This stunning Regency stately home in West London provided the ideal backdrop, with its exquisite features and historical charm. We assembled an incredibly talented team, fronted by the visionary Martha of Anemone, to bring our sophisticated and fresh vision to life.

The Venue

We chose the stunning Gunnersbury Park and Mansion in West London as the backdrop for this enchanting photoshoot. This gorgeous Regency stately home boasts an array of beautiful features, from the grand manor house itself to the charming Orangery and Temple. Our focus was on the Orangery, with its striking chequered floor, fabulous foliage, and streaming light, providing the perfect setting for our vision.

The Vision

Our aim was to modernise and elevate the classic green and white design. The brief was clean, elegant, and modern, with an organic, British summer feel. Zingy greens combined with sophisticated black accents and touches of yellow and brown. The combination of mossy textures and smooth, polished surfaces created a contemporary take on Italian Renaissance style, infused with a distinct Country House feel.

The Team

The photoshoot was brought to life by the visionary Grania of Ink & Paper and Planner Stylist Martha of Anemone. We curated an inspirational team of diverse and creative suppliers who could bring our vision to fruition. Their expertise and unique perspectives were pivotal in showcasing the rich diversity and creativity within the wedding industry.

The Details

The invitation suite featured gorgeously tactile handmade paper, contrasted with modern, chic white ink printing and an ethereal vellum belly band. This blend of traditional and contemporary elements set the tone for the entire shoot.

Florals were crafted by the fabulous Catherine Short, who specialises in contemporary, romantic arrangements. We chose foliage-heavy designs to highlight the vibrant and zesty shades of green nature offers, making the most of the gorgeous textures. Neutral, textured linens from Just4Linen complemented the sophisticated wishbone chairs provided by Wedhead London.

The table styling was kept low and wild, featuring fluffy textures, neutrals, browns, and bold greens. Menus by Ink & Paper perfectly pulled together the chic, modern table look, with white ink on black card menus and chic tile place settings, hand-lettered and artfully ink-splattered, adding even more delicious texture.

Fashion and Accessories

The shoot was a collaboration involving multiple talented designers, including bridal fashion designer Rita Colson and wedding shoe designer Charlotte Mills. We showcased two outfits from the up-and-coming designer Rita Colson: a stunning top and wide-leg trouser combo, and an incredible fringed dress that brought party vibes to our second look. These were perfectly accessorised with nature-inspired jewellery from The Vamoose and striking veils and hair accessories from Ann Marie Faulkner, who specialises in headpieces and veils for stylish, modern brides.

Photography and Videography

We were thrilled to have Laura Martha as part of our team, as we are huge fans of her natural, relaxed, and beautiful wedding photography. Her brilliant editorial eye ensured that every moment was captured with elegance and authenticity. Videography was a key part of our vision, and we were ecstatic to have fashion, lifestyle, and wedding photographer Cal Macbeth on board. His film speaks for itself, showcasing this stunning shoot with distinctive creativity and elegance.
