Everything you need to know about working with Ink & Paper

Hello! It’s lovely to have you here. At Ink & Paper, I deeply value the essential role you play in creating unforgettable weddings. My goal is to support you with exceptional stationery that not only serves a functional purpose but also enhances the beauty and aesthetic of your events.

About Ink & Paper

If you’ve got this far, we’ve probably met before, or at the very least exchanged “hellos” online. My name is Grania and I’m the designer and creative behind Ink & Paper, which I founded in 2018.

My specialism is letterpress, which is a gorgeously tactile traditional form of printing. The beautiful trademark deboss effect is created where luxurious, soft pillowy cardstock is pressed against a printing plate, leaving an indentation of the design. I am incredibly passionate about this heritage craft, and can talk about it for hours and hours.

I’ve put together a short brochure which explains a bit about the way I work, which you can download using the link below. You are more than welcome to share this with your prospective couples:

I've also put together an FAQ which covers many of the questions I have been asked in the past. Click here to jump to this section. If there's something I've missed, please just pop me an email!

A talented creative, Grania’s keen eye for design and flawless creation of letterpress stationery ensures each stationery suite she delivers takes your breath away.

The attention to detail, her sage advice and guidance and open, honest approach makes her a joy to work with.

I have called upon Ink and Paper to create many unique designs for my clients and I highly recommend engaging her in your wedding and party design process. One of the best in the business!

  • For wedding invitations, it’s always best to book as early as possible. Bespoke designs typically take 8-12 weeks to create, so allowing extra time ensures a smooth and stress-free process.

If your client requires physical Save the Dates (usually sent 12-18 months before the wedding), I recommend booking these in as soon as the venue is confirmed.

Bespoke invitations are generally sent out 4-6 months before the wedding. Therefore, booking in 8-10 months ahead of the wedding day is advisable to ensure timely completion.

For On The Day stationery, I usually recommend starting the process 3-4 months before the wedding date.

  • Depending on studio availability, I will do my utmost to accommodate rush jobs. Please note the following rush job fees:

    • £350 for commissions with a turnaround time of less than 4 weeks.

    • £700 for commissions with a turnaround time of less than 2 weeks.

Please be aware that these shortened lead times may impose some design limitations on what we can create.

  • I understand that not all weddings have “typical” guest numbers. To accommodate micro weddings and smaller events, I have a minimum spend of £750 for each project stage.

An Ink & Paper couple hosting a wedding with 120 guests typically spends upwards of £3,500 on their wedding stationery, with the average spend ranging between £5,000 and £8,500.

Here’s a breakdown of these costs:

    • Invitations: Starting from £1,500, with an average spend of £2,500 to £4,000. If Save the Dates are included, the range is £3,000 to £5,000.

    • On The Day stationery: Starting from £1,500, with an average spend of £2,000 to £4,000.

These costs include my design fee, which starts at £495 per project stage.

  • As a wedding stationer, my primary focus is on creating and delivering exquisite bespoke stationery. While I work closely with wedding planners to ensure a seamless experience, my involvement is typically limited to the following areas:

    1. Design Consultation: Collaborating with the wedding planner to understand the couple’s vision, theme, and preferences.

    2. Design and Printing: I do not offer digital printing for most of my designs. My preference is for letterpress, which ensures a luxurious and tactile finish. Digital printing is only used when it is impractical to letterpress certain elements, such as non-calligraphy placecards, orders of service inserts, and small signage larger than A4 size.

    3. Customisation: While I strive to accommodate unique requests, certain customisations may be limited by the design and production techniques I employ. I will always communicate any potential constraints during the consultation process.

    4. Proofing and Revisions: Providing digital proofs and making necessary revisions based on feedback from the wedding planner and couple.

    5. Coordination: Coordinating delivery timelines and logistics with the wedding planner to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all stationery items.

Please note that my role does not typically extend to areas such as event planning, day-of coordination, or other non-stationery related tasks. This allows me to dedicate my full attention to crafting beautiful and unique stationery that perfectly complements the couple’s special day.

  • In addition to crafting bespoke wedding stationery, I offer a variety of services designed to support wedding planners and enhance the overall experience for their couples:

    • Guidance on Wording and Content: I provide expert advice on the appropriate wording and content for all stationery items. This ensures that invitations, Save the Dates, RSVPs, and other materials are clear, elegant, and reflective of the couple’s style and the tone of their event.

    • Photorealistic Mockups: To help couples visualise their stationery, I create photorealistic mockups. These detailed previews bring the designs to life, allowing the couple and the planner to see exactly how the final products will look.

    • Design Consultations: I work closely with wedding planners and their couples during the design phase, offering personalised consultations to discuss themes, colours, and styles that best capture the couple’s vision.

    • Proofing and Revisions: Throughout the design process, I provide three rounds of digital proofs and offer revisions to ensure every detail meets the couple’s expectations and is perfect for their special day.

    • Assembly and Delivery of Invitations: All bespoke invitations are supplied fully assembled and ready to post as standard. Additionally, I can post invitations directly to wedding guests from my studio if required—this is particularly useful for international and destination couples. Please note, however, that I cannot be held responsible for invitations lost or damaged in the post once they leave my studio.

    • Coordination with Other Suppliers: I collaborate with other wedding suppliers, such as florists and cake makers, to ensure that the stationery aligns seamlessly with the overall aesthetic of the event.

    • Timeline Management: I assist in managing the timeline for stationery production and delivery, ensuring all items are ready well in advance of key dates, providing peace of mind for both the couple and the planner.

    • On The Day Stationery Setup: For £400 plus travel expenses, I offer a comprehensive setup service for all on-the-day stationery. This includes arranging place cards, menus, seating charts, signage, and other decorative elements. I will stay as long as needed and assist with other aspects of the wedding setup, ensuring everything is perfectly positioned and aesthetically pleasing.

Through offering these additional services, I aim to provide comprehensive support to wedding planners, helping you to create a flawless and beautifully coordinated wedding experience for your couples.

I recently worked with Grania for the invitations and on the day stationery for one of my couples. We wanted to have beautiful modern letterpress stationery that would set the tone for the day and this was exactly what Grania created.

Every piece was beautiful - from the blind embossed invitation to the gold foil and letterpress menus with pockets to welcome sign and table plan it all fitted perfectly. It was an absolute pleasure working together, highly recommended Grania for modern letterpress wedding stationery.
