A Romantic Blush and Gold Wedding at Ashridge House

Real Wedding: Aimana & Julian

Every now and then, a wedding comes along that feels like it could be lifted straight from the pages of a storybook – but with better shoes and far superior typography. Aimana and Julian’s romantic Ashridge House celebration was one of those weddings. Impeccably elegant, thoughtfully designed, and filled with meaningful details, it was a masterclass in how to craft a celebration that feels as good as it looks.

As a wedding stationer, I believe design should express care through detail, and Aimana and Julian embraced this wholeheartedly. Their day was full of quiet intention, gentle beauty, and just the right amount of gold foil.

Let’s take a closer look at the magic.

Bespoke Wedding Invitations

Aimana and Julian knew from the outset that a cookie-cutter invitation simply wouldn’t do. They chose a bespoke design to reflect the uniqueness of their celebration – something that felt romantic, refined, and unmistakably them.

We started with blush letterpress on beautifully textured handmade paper, soft and tactile to the touch. An intricate illustration of Ashridge House took centre stage, giving guests an early glimpse of the spectacular venue to come. To complete the suite, I designed a custom monogram especially for the couple, which we used as a wax seal – adding a timeless, personal flourish that nodded to the romance and history of the venue.

I always say the invitation is your wedding’s opening chapter. Aimana and Julian’s suite told a story of elegance, intimacy, and joy from the very first envelope.

The Venue: Ashridge House

Set within 190 acres of landscaped gardens in the Hertfordshire countryside, Ashridge House is a venue that needs no introduction – but let’s indulge for a moment anyway. With roots stretching back over 700 years, it was once home to Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Today, it serves as a majestic backdrop for modern love stories, blending neo-Gothic grandeur with fairytale charm.

Aimana and Julian’s wedding made the most of the house’s opulent interiors and sweeping grounds, with every corner offering a cinematic frame for their day. It was the perfect setting for a celebration that balanced history with heartfelt emotion.

The Bride: Aimana’s Stunning Bridal Look

Aimana’s bridal style was the perfect blend of simplicity and sophistication. She wore a beautifully tailored Andrea Hawkes gown – elegant, effortless, and undeniably chic. It flowed with grace and confidence, just like the bride herself.

Her accessories brought a touch of modern sparkle: Jimmy Choo heels for that subtle shimmer with every step, and a celestial-inspired tiara that added just the right amount of magic. Her makeup was kept pared back and polished, allowing her natural beauty to shine (and yes, she glowed).

The Decor

The overall design brief was a dream: romantic blush and green, with a soft whisper of gold – and I was lucky enough to help bring it to life alongside a phenomenal team.

Apple Blossom Flowers filled the rooms with graceful arrangements in soft pinks and delicate greens, echoing the natural beauty of Ashridge’s grounds. The tables were set with Duchess & Butler’s exquisite tableware – gold-rimmed glassware, fine crockery, and all the lovely bits that make a table look like it belongs in an editorial shoot (because it did).

For the menus and signage, I leaned into elegance with a hint of playfulness. Menus were crisp white circles with gold hot foil detailing, finished with luxuriously long gold tassels for a tactile, glamorous twist. Each table was named after a notable figure associated with Ashridge House – an idea I adored, and a subtle nod to the history that surrounded us. These kinds of details may seem small, but they’re the threads that weave a story together.

The Photographer

Of course, none of it would live on quite so beautifully without the magic of Piotrowski Photo behind the lens. With a talent for capturing not just what a moment looked like, but what it felt like, their images are filled with warmth, movement, and meaning. From quiet glances to joyful bursts of laughter, every photo tells a story – elegant yet honest, and completely timeless.

Kind Words From The Couple:

Beautiful wedding stationery! From the initial consultation and throughout the entire process, Grania has been amazing. Intuitively understanding the vision for the colour scheme and guiding us through the process, Grania managed to capture the style and mood I was hoping to achieve. We went for a combination of letterpress wedding invitations and on the day stationery. It worked extremely well. Would highly recommend Ink & Paper for your wedding stationery needs!
